French-Belgian-Luxembourgish Congress of Nuclear Medicine
May 7-9 2011
Welcome message from the Prime Minister, Mister Jean-Claude Juncker
Luxembourg will host from 7 to 9 May 2011 the first French-Belgian-Luxembourgish Congress of Nuclear Medicine. The Luxembourg Government welcomes and encourages the cooperation of scientific societies dedicated to nuclear medicine from France, Belgium and Luxembourg, three countries that are neighbours as well as friends. The Congress also highlights Luxembourg's efforts of promoting scientific research in general, and of supporting medical research in particular.
I welcome both the promise of excellence of this prestigious event and
the desire of cross-border cooperation at its origin. The European idea
is based on the belief that the whole is greater than the sum of its
parts. Meeting, exchanging experiences and collaborating, these notions
are ultimately synonymous with progressing. This is true at the level of
states and governments; it is no less valid when it comes to scientific
research.
For numerous people, nuclear medicine represents the hope of an accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment. Significant progress has already been achieved in this critical area. I am confident that the Congress in May 2011 will bring new valuable contributions to the development of nuclear medicine.

Juncker
