FAQs

What is the BELNUC Young Professionals Event?

This is a unique and inspiring weekend designed for young professionals and (medical) students interested in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging. From 11–13 September 2026, focusing on professional and career development. Participants will experience hands-on workshops, insightful discussions, and valuable networking opportunities – all in a one-of-a-kind glamping setting at Warredal!

Why is BELNUC organizing this and what do we aim to achieve?

BELNUC recognizes a gap between university education and resident training and aims to bridge this by focusing on professional skills and career development. This event provides an opportunity for students and residents to:

  • Enhance their understanding of nuclear medicine
  • Gain valuable insights into career pathways
  • Develop essential professional skills
  • Network with peers and experienced professionals

Additionally, BELNUC aims to increase awareness about nuclear medicine and foster a strong professional community through engaging discussions and social activities.

Who can apply?

This event is open to:

  • Students at a Belgian/French/Dutch university with an interest in nuclear medicine.
  • Residents in nuclear medicine currently enrolled at a Belgian/French/Dutch university.

If you’re passionate about nuclear medicine or curious to learn more about this field, eager to connect with like-minded peers, and ready to grow in a supportive and engaging environment, this event is for you!

Important: Medical students will receive priority until 1 May 2026.

Why should I apply?

Here’s why you don’t want to miss this:

  • Engage in hands-on skill-building workshops
  • Network with fellow students, residents, and experts
  • Learn in a relaxed and immersive setting
  • Enjoy team-building activities under the stars
  • Experience a fully sponsored weekend – accommodation, catering, and activities are included!

I’m a student and I don’t have a lot of knowledge yet about nuclear medicine. Is this a problem?

Not at all! We welcome students from master level, even if you have an interest, but no deep knowledge yet about nuclear medicine. To help you get the most out of the event, there will be an introductory webinar a few days before the event, specifically designed for students. This will cover the basics and ensure that everyone feels prepared and included.

Where will the event take place?

The event will be hosted at Warredal Recreation Park in Limburg, Belgium. This beautiful venue offers a perfect mix of comfort and nature, ensuring an unforgettable experience.

What is the cost of participation?

Participation is completely free, including:

  • Workshops and discussions
  • Accommodation in luxury safari tents (shared accommodation)
  • All meals and activities

However, any travel costs are at the expense of the participants and will not be reimbursed by BELNUC.

Important: While participation is free, accepted applicants who cancel last-minute will be charged a €100 cancellation fee to ensure commitment.

What do you mean with “shared accommodation”?

Our glamping event will be hosted in cabins that accommodate up to 3 participants in separate beds. Each cabin has an ensuite bathroom. In order to offer this event free of charge, we cannot offer individual housing. Also, for practical reasons, we cannot consider rooming preferences.
